hi folks,

normaly a got a vic huntsman or spartan in my backback.
there were situations were the scissors and even the woodsaw(at home in the city) of the huntsman were handy.
now i want a more complete tool, with pliers.

are the pliers of vic really good?in compare to a leatherman juice?

a SAK you can be used for food preperation, but my cheapo little multittools look awful of dirt, from moving parts of the pliers.how is this with leatherman?

The pliers on the SAK'S are fine for light small jobs but the ones on the Leatherman are a lot stronger from my experiences. Get a Charge model leatherman and it should fill all your needs in a multi tool, it's bigger than a SAK but still good for EDC and comes with a pocket clip if you choose to use it instead of the sheath.

I reckon it'd be heresy around these parts  but since you say you carry in a backpack, why not just get a cheap pair of pliers and carry those too?

Why not get a Vic Swisstool of some kind and have SAK implements plus a robust pliers? I love my Spirit, but I'd like to try a Swisstool X sometime too.

Are you talking about the plier head on the Swisstool or Spirit?
