Hello all,
I need to get some funds in hand pretty desperately, so I'm starting a continuing quest to narrow my collection down to the bare essentials. I'm afraid I don't have a camera, but I'll use preexisting photos and internet pics if necessary, and I'll do my best to describe conditions accurately. Please feel free to ask all sorts of questions. Thanks!
On the block:
1 Microtech LCC Manual, black bolsters with OD linen micarta scales. This knife is basically in just-out-of-the-box condition. The action is tight but very smooth, there is no play whatsoever, and the liner hits the tang all the way at the left. Absolutely no scratches or blemishes on the handle or blade. The blade is 154-CM, satin finished (it's really a very nice finish, and not too common on LCCs, as far as I've seen). Comes with box, papers, and sheath. Price: $160 SOLD
1 Pro-Tech TR3 Integrity. This folder is a collaboration project- the blade is ground by W.R. Clark, and the handle and fittings are by Pro-Tech. The TR3 has a 3.5 inch, satin finished 154-CM blade. The handle is bead-blasted titanium, and the framelock is one of the better-executed ones I've seen. This knife is in good used condition. I have sharpened the edge, and I have used sandpaper to "soften" the thumbstuds (they hurt a *lot* at the beginning). The handle has wear marks, but nothing unusual for a titanium handle. The blade has no scratches at all. According to 1SKS, the price for a new one is $399. Get this one for substantially less. Price: $180 SOLD
1 Benchmade Limited Edition Ares 733-01. This knife has carbon fiber and rosewood scales and a satin-finished S30V blade. It also has hat-style backspacers instead of the usual Zytel single backspacer. This is #419/500. The knife has been used for some light tasks, and has been touched up now and then. The blade and handles remain unmarked. The pocket clip has one or two light blemishes that almost look like stains, but they're white, and they were there from the factory... I'm sure Benchmade will send you a new clip, if it matters to you. It's a great using knife... if only it weren't tip-up carry... Comes with its original metal presentation box. Price: $150 SOLD
1 CRKT Grant Hawk D.O.G. - This knife is basically new. It comes with its box, an extra set of handle scales, and a torx wrench to remove the scales and the clip. I liked it a lot, but it was tip up, which I hate, so it spent most of its time in my drawer. AUS-8 blade, plain edge, with aluminum handles and Zytel scales. Price: $35 SOLD
1 Case Seahorse Whittler - This is a stainless steel bladed version, with jigged bone handles that have a burnt look to them. The color is very light at the bolster ends, turning into a reddish-orange further towards the center, with dark areas that are brownish-black. The tang stamp reads "6355WH SS," and the shield is oval, with a flag motif on each end. The blades are mirror polished, but the main blade shows a very light scratch near the nail nick. It must have been there from the factory, because I never actually got around to carrying it. Excellent "walk and talk," in my opinion. Comes with a simple suede pouch. Price: $30 SOLD
1 Schrade Lake and Walker, BG-42 Version - This is the SLW-2, which sports a BG-42 blade, rather than Schrade's standard stainless steel (can't remember what it was). The fittings are supposedly titanium - I can only confirm that the pivot head, screws, and backspacer are nonmagnetic. This has a "plastic framelock," that is basically a regular liner lock with a part of the polymer (Zytel, I think?) frame cut out and fitted to it. The lock face is actually part of a disk - supposedly it can be rotated to combat wear, but I never checked with Schrade, and *poof* now they're gone. The pivot screw is cut for one of those weird 4-prong circumferential drivers, and the locking disk screw just has a series of crosshatched slots - DIY maintenance will probably be a bit of a chore. This knife is used; the pivot head has a few scratches, although the handle itself, the clip, and the blade are in excellent condition. It has been touched up, but since it's BG-42, I'm sure it can do a lot better. Price: $40 ON HOLD
Thanks for reading through, and if you have any questions, or would like to make a reasonable offer, please post here or email me. All prices include USPS Priority Mail shipping to the US. I strongly prefer PayPal, as it's the fastest way for me to get the money I so desperately need... Therefore, I'll absorb the fees myself. Thanks for looking!
