For Sale posting etiquette.

I don't remember seeing them, I did find a couple of dealers with them in stock but they were at the same price I was asking on this one and the ones on ebay were over $300 and there were 3 listed. Are these ones in stock you are talking about the Tanto style or regular style. I have always seen the Tantos selling for more.

I also found about 5 dealers showing them in stock and then telling me when I went to order one that they were out. I do know they are very hard to find.

I have just seen them selling for almost or well over MSRP everywhere I looked. That is why I priced mine below that to try and get a quick sale.

Just trying to raise some cash but be fair and not gouge anyone.

Mac.

Sorry Mac, I did not finish my post, Your price is very generous compared to what they have them for. This is an unsolicited post. This is a very good price for a great knife. Good luck on the sale.

WHY can't people stop messing with other's for sale posts? Who cares if someone else has the same item in stock? The last time I sold a knife on this forum I had someone PM me and say my price was too high!
I really wish the mods would crack down on this kind of thing. And yes, I know I'm violating the forum rules by posting this but it's the only way to bring this kind of thing to someone's attention. This has got to stop!

Not messing with his post, was interested in the the knife, found it else where. These knives are still available through various vendors. Sounds to me like your the only one messing with someones post.

Point taken, I'm relatively new here and did not abide by the rules, my sincerest apologies to those I offended.

How would you feel if you posted a knife for sale and someone made a follow-up post saying:
1) Your price is too high.
2) They are available at XYZ store.
3) I just bought one for $xxx.
Come on people, use your brains and knock this kind of stuff off!

I don't know about the community, but if xx is selling his/her knife for $$$ and someone has found numerous other sources for the same knife at a reduced price, I think that would be information worthy of posting. If you don't like it when people point this out, then prepare yourself.

I also agree with Magpie that there should be some posting etiquette needed as well.

Whitedogg and pecker,

I am going to say this once so pay attention....

It is bad form and poor etiquette to hijack a paying members For Sale thread. They have paid for the right to sell their items here and will be allowed to do so without interruption from other members who spot deals elsewhere. Needless chit-chat is not allowed in The Exchange. If you don't like the seller's price then don't buy the item he is selling.

It is not your job to play "price police".

If it continues then your time at BFC will be short-lived. If you don't like it all I have to say is..."Them's The Rules". Follow them.

Also, if you see someone breaking forum etiquette, click the little button in the top right of the post, to bring it to the attention of the moderators.

From a new guy who just posted his first For Sale (which incidentally was WAY easier than I thought it would be), thanks for the advice about reporting a post. Bladeforums.com is easier to use than I thought. I stayed away from this WAY too long!
