I posted a for sale thread in individual production and have bumped it twice now and each time the thread
does not go back to the top of the list like it used to. Is this a new feature? Is there no bump option now?
I dropped/changed prices around and I'm still 6 pages deep.

Bumping threads no longer works in the Exchange. It was disabled due to abuse. All threads are sorted by post time now.
Additionally there have been a few changes to the Exchange forum rules. Please take the time to bring yourself up to date.

i can understand wanting to curb abuse ,but i paid a membership fee and now if i put something up for sale and it doesnt sell the first night then its gonna be so deep in that it wont get seen again. just sayin, kind of a rip off.

Not really. People dig deep when they are in a buying mood. Granted you wont be the "impulse buy" on the first page but I still get emails from sales 3 months ago with people interested. There are many two troll around in double digit pages looking for what they want. Hell im one of them...

I agree, this is stupid. Ive been selling a while, and the usefulness of this site just went down the toilet.

I did not see any "no bumping" rule in the Exchange sticky. Might be good to add it - unless its there and I missed it. We know that bumping was groovy in the past, and when I listed an item recently I had to ask Brother Esav for clarification on the bumping rule because its not memorialized in writing as far as I can tell.

It hasn't made a whole lot of difference to me. I've had emails months after a thread was posted inquiring about the item.

People looking to buy know how deep to dig. There's also this handy thing called the "Search function". If people want what you have to sell, they'll find it.

Don't let the bathroom door hit on on the ass on your way out.

Play nice, guys. The system in place works well, but when it's your knife that's not selling, frustration sets in. This is Tech SUPPORT, not Whine & Cheese.

I posted an item for sale in Gadgets & Gear three days ago, and its still on the first page. There is certainly a higher volume of knife sales, which will push you off the first page faster, but the same is true if everyone were bumping. I like the "new" (to me) no bumping thing because its a level playing field, and eliminates everyone constantly "cutting" to the front of the line. JMO.

You can still "bump" your threads. It won't take them to the top of the Exchange but it will take them to the top of the "Whats New" search...for about 4 minutes :D
