This is another new one I call the Ultralite Hunter, but it would be perfect for preparing meals in the camp or at home.

Specs:
Overall length: 8 1/4"
Blade: 4" x 1/16" thick with a scandivex edge
Handle: Tan canvas micarta
Steel: O1
Weight: 3 7/8 oz
Price: $145 with no sheath, $165 with sheath + $8 shipping

I was able to handle this fine knife at the gathering this past weekend.

The knife has a nicely sized handle, full four finger grip ability in my hands (large), and of course I love the thin "super slicer" JK 01 steel in the satin finish. John also rounded the spine, which adds to the finished appearance and elegance of the blade. This one is also very sharp!

This will be a GREAT food prep knife, and I believe it would hold up to any camp chore that you might think of - I think the steel would even allow batoning (my own opinion) if it were necessary, but the thin steel would be hard on your mallet or log.

As the viKtim taught us, John's 01 is very durable, so I would have no worries.

I like this one, and I will be ordering one in a different scale material.

I would echo Andy's comments after having a chance to handle it at the recent Gathering. The "Scandivex" edge that John did on this one is really nice and very sharp. It would just sail through meat and veggies alike.

Since this one is still here, instead of selling it I think I will do a passaround!
