Not REALLY!
Just need the answer to a question PLEASE
My wife says a "miming" knife is used to kill bad mimes.
What is a 'MIMING" knife or what does "MIMING" refer to in knife speak?
Thank you!

Levine's Guide doesn't have mime or miming in its index. The closest thing is a mincing knife for making bowls.

Most of my buddies back in New York say that a Knife SHALL never be used against a mime. The preferred method is a very hefty from the fathoms of your pelvis left hook and watch as they mime "Holy F&&&*&* SH*t" with a severly fractured Jaw. hey, they can still mime as they recover.....wolf
(Just kidding...Maybe)

Since Mr. Russell's encyclopedia doesn't give a definion and Mr. Levine declines as well, the task inevitably falls upon me to define this cutlery word:

Mime Knife: A cheap copy of a brandname or designer knife that sort of acts a bit like the original but in a really cheap sort of stupid way. You're expected to put a dollar in the hat of the fleamarket guy selling these. He'll probably be rude and won't speak to you.

Miming was one of the old Gerber models with a smooth, ergonomic handle, possibly from their line of sleek kitchen cutlery. This blurb:

Miming was a sword of which the master smith was so proud the he named it after himself, as his own son. Miming the smith was tutor not only to Siegfried but to Volund, or Wayland the smith, also noted for forging miraculous blades. It was Miming with his namesake sword who defeated the rival smith Amilias in the famous contest of the irresistible blade versus the impenetrable armor. Amilias in his armor was sliced neatly in two, but was unaware of the fact until rising to walk. This is the earliest known version of the "jes’ wobbly yo’ haid" story

from this collector's website:
http://www.gerberknives.com

gives an explanation of the name.

Here's one up for auction (I'm not the seller, nor do I know them):
