That's very cool Dave. The aluminum casting of the hilt & the penolic resin injection molded handles. I must say I would have never guessed that is how it is done.

Dave,

Were these the experimental ones that the handles cracked on most of them? Still very cool photo's.

Yes thoes very ones!
i had one that was un cracked
sent it to Joe to get letter
and it cracked in the cargo hold from cold
is why it was discontuned
trival - seems most were sold with a serial number and coa
but many (like almost all that i heard of)
that were not cracked at the time
did not get sold with a SN and coa!

I had one of these experimentals too. It has no cracks until it got
a few sunlight. It laid on the table and the sun came through the window.
it got two cracks at the shadow side. Joe would give me another regular 119
in excange. But I gave it away.

COOL! The 119 was my VERY first Buck knife.

I went to buy a 110 and when I saw that 119 in the display case, I had to have it. Then when I realized I couldn't wear it on my belt around town, I bought a 110 as soon as I could save the money for it.

Same to me. The first buck I had was a 119, the second a 110. Now I collect
the 119. But I have even more 110. They always come through the door. I can't stop them.
I'm not able to do anything against it. :jerkit: ;) :)

Best,
Haebbie
