For the first time, I traded down.

And I couldn't be happier! Thanks to Knife Hunter I finally have the chunk 'O' INFI that I believe will go to the grave with me. Thanks to Dave Brown for the killer pants as well.
The only mate for this beast is the MiniMuk, so "Bring It!"

It's never a trade down as long as you wind up with something you want more !!
:D

Value-wise maybe, but I like the SARsquatch a little better than the ASH-1 for an all-around camp knife.

Nice set up.

I think I may have traded down about 13 years ago:confused:

But the new one does perform a bit better:p

Thanks for the pics:thumbup:

MMIAB...you should definitely get rid of the SFNO now. Send her down to me, and I'll dispose of her properly. All your knives are belong to me. ; )

People seem to really like the Sarsquatch. I'm still holding out for the SAR4s. But congrats on the new INFI - there's no such thing as a trade down if you're getting what you want. :) That is a pretty sheath, by the way. :p

I really like the Sarsquatch too....picked up one on the exchange and one in the ganza. Thanks for the pics.

I don't know that you traded down. I have a 2007 ASH-1 SE that I like a lot. But I like the Sarsquatch better. Especially since I stripped it and gave it a better edge.

I traded a Busse Meaner Street SE for a Swamp Warden and Rat Trap. I carry that Rat Trap every day. The Meaner is a nice knife, but my Scrap Yard SS4 with the mudder grips fit my large hand better, so I let the Meaner go. It all depends on what works for you.

I only traded down in monetary value is what I was getting at. I got the bargain in my personal estimation. I usually strip INFI once it makes it past the cardboard sheath, but this one is getting beat first. I promised my kids a new path on our property this summer, and I think the Squatch will be the tool used.

You definitely made no mistake.

I'm keeping at least one SARSquatch in my permanent collection. Probably the Comp Grade.

I missed the mailman yesterday who left a note that stated I had to sign for an item - and I would imagine that item was a SARsquatch! :grumpy:

I agree with the general consensus here that the trade was good for you if you, personally, like the squatch better. I see where you're coming from trade-value wise but it sounds like you didn't really trade-down in terms of what you wanted (just $$$ wase). Moreover, as I'm sure you know, the squatch could pull ahead in cash-value in a year or so.
