Thanks for posting this. I work in Altadena and I remember vividly those wild fires, but watching that video is something else.
About the purple flowers - good to know.

G'day Sasha

Thanks for the video link.

It does a great job of showing what the beast looks like :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I would love to see what regeneration occurs there over time :D

Kind regards
Mick

Fire can either rejuvenate the land or sterilize it, depending on how hot it burns. Unfortunately, when the amount of fuel is great, it burns so hot that sterilization is the more likely result. We need to be doing control burns during the wet season when fires can be kept cool and on the ground, instead of hot and up in the canopy!

Great video, that fire was about ten minutes from where I live at one point the ridges of the mountains were all aglow. That Lion, mmm don't get me started...there is one that comes all the way down to my place close to the 138.

Those flowers are everywhere.

I ride my bike in the area once in a while. It seems that it started to get green again. We would see how this winter would effect the area. Talked to a ranger and he said that most areas seem to recover nicely for how big the fire was.. They do have more cameras mounted in the area. I would see if i can find more to post..
