I submit to you the unofficial Busse Combat INFI Hog Humidor! As all you hogs know, we are often drawn to remote places and various climates to sniff out secret stashes of Busse steel. One thing that we can't chance is the destruction of our precious provisions while we are out hunting for the elusive buried treasure. This particular can held cigars fresh as they day they were made for well over a year!

Cool

Where is your gauge, button, etc...??? ;)

Edit: I may have to make one of them. A tip for guys interested, if I may... Check with your local tobacky shop for extra strips of cedar. I work next to one and they are getting raided :D  :D

okay...so what are the coordinates? I have to assume you're placing this as a geocache? Leave a stogie--take a stogie? :D

There is a tobacconist downtown who sells his old boxes, so they would not take much to make more. When my son was born, I bought this ammo can full of cigars. I think they were 50 ring guage and there were 91 of them in there. I just gave the last few away a week or two ago and they were just like the day I opened the can. Nate is almost 15 months old now, so that is pretty good. Anyone want to buy a nice fancy humidor, because this one is taking it's place. It may not be pretty, but as rarely as I smoke this is perfect.

Now I just have to get Wetdog to snag me some hand rolled babies and I can stock it up for Blade! :)

Brilliant!!!!!!!

As soon as I can get down to the ArmyNavy and the tobacconists, I'm on it for you big guy!

That is so most excellent. My humidor is, well, cheap and doesn't hold the humidity worth squat. I do, however, have a 7.62mm can. Now all I need is the special cedar!

Cheers,
BJB :D

Just say the word. A new latin market just opened up nearby and they probably have 15 or 20 totally different brands than the one I usually go to. All are handrolled, but the shops are a couple of rollers and whatever label they use, so the variety is staggering. Not to mention the imported hand rolled stuff from the DR or Central America. The nice thing is, almost nothing over $1.25 each. The Latinos just won't go for it. Only the Gringos go to the tobacco shops and pay $5-$10/cigar. Right now, I'm checking out different Dominican brands.

Not much in the way of humidors down here though. The locally produced cigars are usually rolled and smoked within a week or less. Like the ammo can, but finding cedar might present a problem withought a lengthy drive. Good idea though.

In the news today, a husband/wife cigar rolling duo just floated in. They touched land, so they get to stay. So I guess a new label of some sort will be started. Wish they would say where the tobacco comes from. The way it is, ya just gotta get one of whatever and check it out to see if it suits you. It's rough, but I tough it out. :-))))

wow. sounds like a serious cigar guys dream.
i'd probably quit butts down there. :)
the one place around here for handrolleds(perth amboy) involves a neighborhood where you do NOT want to park your car, and i'm just too fat and lazy to walk. ;)

Marvelous man. I'll be getting a hold of you. I like my cigars like I like my beer..dark and stout.

The chance for you to find this stash will probably present itself at the approximate latitude of 33.953731 and the approximate longitude of
-84.541162. Give or take a few miles here or there. :)

Would anyone be interested in fully stocked and stenciled humidors? Just curious. I can still get these filled with a nice mild Nicaraguan (sp) cigar. When I say filled I am talking nearly 100 cigars. Just a thought.

Hell yes. I'll take one like yesterday.

Since you have to stencil each one anyway, why not offer to stencil the buyer's name or BF moniker or O.I.N.K. handle or whatever, on the opposite side?

The only downside that I've heard about ammo-dors is that the inside of the can, even when cedar-lined, can impart a metallic or chemical-ly taste to the cigars. I have no experience with this either way, but I don't care. If I find out down the road that it's a problem, I'll just take it to Line-X and have them spray the inside and underneath the lid, then put the cedar lining back in. I take everything to them (except my pickup, ironically enough). They're used to it by now.

As far as the taste of cigars after being store in an ammo can, I can only say that the ones I had in here for over a year, never picked up a taste from the can. The Line-X coating is an interesting idea though. :) I could do the hog's OINK name on the other side or something.

here's my answer to the hoglador  :D

Darn good idea Stinky. That is a bit large for my cigar comsumption level though. One 50 cal can full of cigars will last me well over a year. That is a cool idea for maintaining the whole shooting match right in their cedar boxes though.
