While I don't own a lot of knives one of the ones I do own is an Ontario Carter Prime. The knife took a bit of work to make nice this blade is just awesome. Nice big D2 blade, a beautiful and non-offensive sheepsfoot blade that is great for EDC and a smoothness that lets the blade drop almost freely (just a little wrist), and a flipper that doesn't effect pocket space. This knife at $80ish is just better than any Benchmade or Spyderco in it's price bracket..

If you're a fan sound off.

Best value for money at that price point, imho. Terrific folder. Wish it was a bit more wharncliffy and less sheepsfooty but that's a really minor complaint. Great size. Great action. Clean looks.

EDIT: If Ontario made it in another blade style, I'd buy that too.

You're right..edited

Really been wanting one of these. Please, no one post any pics so that I am not further tempted

I picked up a used Prime recently. It was dirty with gritty action and a couple tiny chips in the blade. Gave it a good cleaning and sharpening and I agree it's AWESOME - great flipping action, falls shut, beefy blade and such a unique and useful design.

I've wanted one of hese for a while. What a great package for a great price. Doesn't Ontario have another titanium framelock for a comparable price.

This one is just begging for blade mods, and to have the edges of the handle eased down & polished. I plan to convert one to Wharncliffe once we're back on our feet financially.

Great value on this one. Literally the action is so cool. Great flipper. It's unbelievable that it's only $80

It's not perfect though, but I'll save that for another post.

Somebody posted the knife next to the sebenza. I also have the same two knives and they can't be more different. The weights are opposite. The carter prime is heavy as heck. But keep in mind, some folks love that weight. It's a cool desk piece for me.

I posted with the sebbie and you're right they couldn't be more different, the sebbie will stay in my pocket but this Carter Prime just gets better the longer I own it and today it sunk in how really great the knife is no mater the weight

I wish they'd gone with caged bearings or PB washers on this one. Not a deal killer but worth thinking about from a maintenance standpoint.

Did anyone ever swap to caged bearings on this knife ?, looking at one currently but those loose bearings are putting me off.
