First off id like to say that this community for blades is awesum and seems like alotta good folk here. A lil background story to kick this thread off....
Not even out of highschool yet and spending all summers on a lobster boat bustin my ass at a early age, carrying a knife was not only a normal thing but a life and death thing. throwing a lobster trap overboard and having the rope get wrapped around your foot hauling you overboard and sinking you to the oceans bottom.
At this point its a simple equation, Knife = a chance / No knife = Death.
The Captain of the fishing vessel " Viking", was a Spyderco dealer, and possibly the 1st one in Maine at this point in time. Nobody had heard of them or seen them. He Handed me a box oneday asa gift and low n behold it was the Org. Endura / half serade.
I fell in love instantly and it never left my side for years. Even through highschool i carried it, back in the day when u could carry a blade in school without the thoughts you had a 9mm in ur backpack meaning to use it on the teachers that gave you 2much homework.
I lost it. For months i scoured my house hoping to find the blade that never let me down. It was like missing a thumb. I bought another Endura and lost that a couple years later
.
So here i sit with my Wal-mart Gerber Paratropper:thumbdn: Its not a "bad" blade! It just doesnt hold a candle to the co in my book.
Heres my thoughts and was hoping for some insight. Im looking at the newest model of Endura right now, Endura 4 FFG with the VG-10steel.
The new colors are really vibrant and the full flat grind is def. a bonus. $60 all said n done online.
