Looks like Queen is introducing this for 2014...in both Amber Stag Bone and Curly Zebra Wood.

They have made them before. I also believe and I am sure Derrick from KSF can tell us for sure, but I believe the Northwoods Peanut is D2 from Queen. I will have watch for these. Steven

You can see it here. I want one!

They have made them before and ours is from Queen. I believe these are off new tooling. They have had to remake a lot of tooling to bring their quality up. Queen is certainly on the up swing. :)

Good to hear. I had a rawhide series peanut for a bit. It was 440 SS I think. I just couldn't bond with it. D2 might be interesting. Honestly, if they'd do some 1095 in corn cobb jigged bone or something old school like that, I'd be on it. Their current bone just doesn't do it for me.

How will we know when they are available? I don't want one produced before the Daniels took over. The NOS from Queen comes butterknife sharp. I find D2 a task to sharpen, especially as they should come sharp in the box. The new ones shouldn't have this issue.

The peanut in D2 as part of the standard product lines is new for 2014 so no worries there about old stock with this particular pattern.

I like it, I too agree Queen has made good measures to improve QC. The most disappointing knife I purchased was a Queen Swinguard from 4 years ago, one of the nicest folders I own is their English Jack in 1095, which I purchased this last year. Very nice knife, also I have on of their workhorses in Winter Bottom Delrin, #51 Trapper that is spot on, as far as fit and finish go. I'll try and get one of these.

I snagged a a couple of their MOP handled peanuts one is smooth pearl and one is a crosshatched pattern pearl. I am very impressed with their QC. No flaws in either one.

According to that page, overall closed length is just 2 1/4". Could that be right?

Not likely, probably just a typo. Blade length is also listed as 2 1/4", which together, would be 4 1/2" which is less than the 4 7/8" OAL they list.

Hm... that could be a purchase for 2014 - I like the Peanut style. I also thouht, I could get that much into the #06 Pemberton design, but somehow it didn´t grow onto me... However.

:)
