For the people who owned it, what explained the weight of the Sog field pup 1 (212g) ?

212g (7.5 oz) for this kind of knife seems huge to me. Its successor, the Sog Field is only 115g for the same size. What's the explanation behind the curious weight of the Sog field pup 1 ?

My Drop Forged Hunter also had weight of around 220gram and it has 4inch (10cm) long blade.
