KBC advertises the subject , in a set, right on their home page:
kbctools.com

are they for real ?

$89 gets u a set with that, plus base, arms and 1" dial digital indicator.
Right on their home page ...

There's probably 2 shops in the whole nation that can hold these types
of tolerances, but still I am sure many of us wouldn't mind having 5 h-th
of resolution.

Another value is that of sheer amusement: measure a part @ room temp,
then hold it in your hand for some secs and see how metal expands :)

it's a typo, both only go to 3 decimal points.whoever does their advertizing had a stuck key and didn't proof read the ad.

A pair of calipers is not capable of repeatably measuring to those tolerances. to measure something finer than .0001 you're really going to have to spend some serious cash on the tools and the climate controlled room to do the job in.

i believe there are a whole lot more than 2 shops in the nation that can get 5 decimal clearence on a daily basis.i know of a few who work with 6-8 decimal points on a daily basis as routine.

Must be tough. Even best CNC systems would have problems positioning to this tolerances, accross: accuracy, res & repeatability. That and controlling temp in large environments, keep tools cool etc .

That number is usually refered to as 50 millionths. Any precision grind shop holds that on a regular basis. It requires strict temp control though.
