This was originally supposed to be a response to an "impress me" comment regarding the BK-15 but I figured I took so many pic's that it warranted a new thread.

Let me start by saying that this is the knife that E gave me at the gathering. (Not sure how he feels about being referred to as "E" but I'm a lazy typer soooo........)
Anywho, I was really happy to get a 15 but was a bit skeptical how it would hold up compared to other Becker knives.

First off was the kitchen use. I cut up some onion for a ghetto stir fry. I didn't do the whole onion like the pic but if you need to, you can cut almost paper thin with the 15.
Just for S&G; Why not open the can with the 15? As a disclaimer; the knife is in a modding limbo and has a half a$s strip job on it. Some of the coating got in the can as I was stabbing it.

Off to the yard.

You can adjust the screen all you want. Regardless of what you do, this knife was BAF(bent as ----) and popped back without a hiccup. My baton was a 2.5 foot section of 2x4. I beat knives like I hate them and that is why I like Becker knives. They take abuse like this in stride.

If this doesn't impress you than I can't help you. As a kitchen knife for chopping you might want something with better handle clearance. For batoning, you might want something thicker. If you want to rely on a knife that can kick as$ in the kitchen and hold it's own in the woods than there ya go.

Sweet. Reviews like this make me wanna spend some money.

I just came across a reference tonight (which I can't find now) that MS isn't entirely happy with 8 either.

Sorry you can't mod it like a Becker!

awesome pics, your kid really got into it!
my gutter mind sees something quite different on that 2nd shot with the split onion... :D

Beans make you poop!!! Sweet pics, I'm thinking she will be next. Made deluxe burgers with my 10 today. Beckers and food just make delicious babies. That doesn't sound right, but it is.

BK freaking 15... I am very impressed by those bend pics!, but I know durable these 15's really are. I accidentally sent mine shooting into a concrete floor like a rocket on fire and still it was alright. Very nice.

on a side note am I the only one who noticed the Rum? Rum is good to drink when you are all out of whiskey. MMMM makes me want some Jack with a Sailor Jerry chaser. Wait... may have spotted some whiskey in the background of the second pic...

All in all... Good thread

... a T-Rex shirt for your kid? You sire, are awesome!
When I saw that 15 bent like that, I almost got a heart attack. Really amazing it just pops back. Cool!

What sayers' of nay were there ? Those bend shots are an AWESOME EXAMPLE of excellent heat treat !!!!

Thanks guys. The T-rex shirt is from the Natural Science Center in NC where they have life size models of the dinosaurs. Pretty cool.
Close but no shrubbery. That was such a great movie. I may have to dig that one out and watch it again.
No real nay-sayers. It was mostly for the people that may have been holding off getting a 15 because of the though it may be less durable with the thinner blade.
Yes, Woodford Reserve in the second pic.

excellent use of the 15.

personally, one of my favorites :D

Great shots! Did you just remove the coating or did you regrind it?

Nope. I was trying to strip just the bottom part of the blade with an epoxy remover but I don't really like how it came out. I will be stripping it completely here shortly.

"A scratch?! Your ARMS OFF!"... Black Knight. "No it isnt...", Arthur, "Well whats that then?!" Black Knight, " I've had worse..."

LOL taking me back...
