Greetings!

This thread is for all of you who have served in the military or are presently serving. I wish I could talk face to face or at least by phone with each and everyone of you personally and thank you for your service and your sacrifice. But I guess this will have to do.

A typed letter cannot convey the emotion I feel while writing this, but I hope you understand that Nicol and I wish all of you the best. Without you, and all who have served, fought, and given the ultimate sacrifice, this great country would not exist. Thank you again for all you have done.

I say prayers for each of you, my customers, daily. But I will be flying my treasured flag tomorrow in all of your honor. I purchased my flag on our honeymoon. We spent a day at Pearl Harbor, visiting the USS Arizona Memorial and the USS Missouri. Both events had been lifelong dreams of mine. My flag was flown over the USS Arizona. You may have seen the flag as the background in my hawk photos.

Many of you are on the tip of the spear whether here or abroad. Stay vigilant. Shoot straight. God Bless.

For those of you who are reading this thread and have not served, please take the time to find a veteran close to you, whether at work, in your family, or in the checkout line at the grocery store. Get out of your comfort zone and say thanks. I guarantee they have been out of their comfort zone for you.

AMEN
And one more thing, may you always maintain an elevated position behind heavy cover with anything belt-fed.

Thank you ekillian. A little gratitude goes a loooong way towards making it all worthwhile. Thankfully my service is done, and now I'm eternally grateful to those who are serving today and to those who have gone before. You're all heroes.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Less than 30 WWI vets still alive in the US. God bless em.

I also would like to thank my brother veterans, both currently serving and those who have completed their service.

Thanks to all who have served, both in peacetime and wartime. Most of the veterans I know either served during peacetime or back home in the US, one of my uncles saw some really vicious combat in Vietnam. I made so many phone calls today :), but it was worth it to hear the joy in their voices that somebody cared about their sacrifices.

you are never too late to thank a vet!

thanks and those who came before and serving and those who will serve thank you!

I too am late to this thread. On Thursday I was invited to the local Elementary School for an assembly. It was a tribute to local vets. We were all seated in the center of the gym and the school children proceeded to sing, speak and recite poetry in tribute to veterans. It brought tears to my eyes.

I'm thankful I served and thank all that serve past, present and future.
