So like the title says if your stuck in the group that fell in the back order universe waiting on the gods to provide you with a delivery date and shipping info tell us how you plan on muddling through? What blade will you use to take your mind off the unbearable waiting. Will you sit with a beer and look at your collection or use a bk2 or bk9 to remind the woods that steel is stronger then wood? .....or will you be like me and search endlessly trying to find someone who has it in stock?......FYI that's not working out so well just as well I :jerkit:

Yeah I know but waiting sucks and I am not a patient person by nature so this is killing me....aaarrrrggghhhh can't wait till I get it. I decided that I am going to put the new hardwood scales on it that I bought for the bk2 strip below the grind on the blade and convex the edge then look at spending more money to buy another set of scales for my bk2.....kinda a Ron Peter to pay Paul situation but ah well I think the blood wood scales will look awesome on the 10

I swap scales around a lot. Im trying to get micarta for all of them since I like it so much, but that is a lot of micarta :D

I haven't tried the micarta for my beckers as I am on the fence about them. The micarta on my esee ls is great and my ontario rd9 not so much so not sure if I should buy them or not.....I suppose worst case scenario I call re-sell them

Ka-Bar's micarta is worth it. Maybe I'm wrong but is the reason you don't like Ontario's micarta is because it's to square? I had a TAK-1 and the ergos were horrible, the 'carta was really blocky and felt half done. With the Becker micarta its nicely contoured to the original grips and sits on well without any protruding parts. There's some CNC tooling marks (kinda like small ridges) on the sides but they can be sanded or filed off if you don't like them. If you're still unsure you can watch the exchange or a similar place and sometimes people sell their Beckers with micarta as a package for a really good price. That's how I've gotten my micarta.

The KABAR Micarta is well worth it. It's as good of quality as the ESEE micarta(MUCH better than Ontario) and it's much more ergonomic(not flat sided). I was on the fence for a long time as well... now I don't own a Becker blade without micarta. It's good stuff. Buy it. If you don't like it, I'll buy it from you. I can always use an excuse to pick up another knife. :)

Taking the BK2 out in a bit with my hawk to scrounge up some fatwood. It is raining here in Central NJ, but what the heck....Hopefully getting wet will be worth it.. will report back...Out!

How I'm passing the time until I can get a new 10. Need to get another set of those flat scales from Tommythewho. IMO, they're the perfect scales for the BK-10. They vastly improve the balance of the 10. If I could only convince Tommy to make them in micarta...

That's who made the new scales for me...can't wait till they show up , should be Monday or Tuesday however I am doing a big ass happy dance as I just received my shipping info for the bk10 that I bought from another online retailer so god willing in a week or 2 this Canadian boy should have his new blade to be closely followed by my original purchase from tomars ....going to be a long wait but at least one of them is enroute.

Dale at TKC still has (8) BK10's in stock. I ordered one this morning & just got my tracking info. a few minutes ago.:D

I have an RD9, and also have a set of Becker micarta. The Becker micarta scales are way, far, head and shoulders, above the Ontario scales. There is no comparison. They are worth every cent. I have sanded, filed and Dremeled the Ontario, but they are still not near the stock Becker micarta.
And truth be told, at first, I did not like the natural micarta that Becker used, I liked the "tactocool" look of the Ontario black, but now I love the natural and can live without the black.

I got back a few hours ago. Got lucky...

I will post up a few more pics in a dedicated thread..
