John over at JK Knives made me a pocket version of his Canadian Belt Knife. Thought some of you would like to take a look.

It is riding in my back pocket as I type this. The bade is 2.5" of O1 steel. The handle is 3" with maple burl scales and brass pins. It is very comfortable in hand.

Here it is with the full size CBK:

Anyone looking for a pocket fixed blade should give one of these some serious thought. I absolutely love it! Thanks for looking.

Can you do a better shot of the sheath?

I love the knife, and pocket fixed blades in general. The whole concept is great, no folding, no hidden areas for gunk, easier to deploy with gloves in cold weather. I have tried the pocket fixed blades, and love them. But...

Living in the insane Peoples Republik Of Marylandistan, they are a no-no. No concealed fixed blade knives at all. A number 12 Opinel is okay in your pocket, but a Buck Hartsook is not.

I do love the JK knife though. I've got an idea to just go with the pocket fixed blade, and if anything happens to just make a court case out of it. I do carry a Mike Miller pocket fixed glad often, and it is similar to the JK. The JK will give me a bit more handle, it looks like. Not a bad thing for a senior citizen.

Carl.

awesome, thanks for sharing, I think if I got the little un the big un might just have to come along two, that is a very striking pair!

I really like JK's version of that classic design. I've owned several Bark River Canadian Special and the David Farmer interpretation of the Canadian national knife. A solid and practical design.

That small version is really great looking. What´s the grind on these knives?

I agree with Carl - smaller pocketable fixed blades are nice to carry.

Maple Burl and O1 steel will make a great combination - great knife :)

I have always liked that design. Have a couple of the Grohmanns, but the handles are too skinny and get uncomfortable real quick. These have beefier handles, which are very comfortable. That little one just feels fantastic in hand.

I would say they have a full flat grind with a convex edge. Very sharp.

Thanks for the replie! That knife would make a nice addition to my collection :)

How I almost said - great looking knife!

I will also be working on a slightly larger version (6 1/2" overall, 3" blade) in the future, for those who need a bit more knife.
