Hi Everybody,

I know some of you do not venture over to the SRK forum & thought you may like this.

I had a few request for this for the Waki, but it will work for the AK or Ruck as well, in fact I sold one that I made for a Ruck at Blade.

An Buy Brown Original Exposed Spine Sheath for the Waki

You can actually carry a sword on your strong side if you want to !!!!

The para-cord is a little added security for the pull the dot snap;

With an exposed-spine sheath, I'd EDC that sucker...too bad I ain't got one!

Unbelievably COOL ! ! ! !

I have one of Dave's open spine designs and it one of the most innovative sheaths that I have ever used!!!!! It cuts the weight, and makes blade retrieval super quick on a big blade!!!! . . . . Wish that I had thought of it!!!!!

The big man from Arizona is a genius!!!!!

Jerry :D

Very nice! I have a open spine sheath for my M9LE that I used the other day while stumbling around. These sheaths are great for getting a big steel out fast. I guess you can put it away just as fast but that's not as fun.

I also managed to shove a lot of grit in my sheath and these clean out stupid fast.

Great design David!

great design, David!
I have some fantasies about the Waki after seeing the film I Am a Legend"...

Could you make it for a CGFBM, too?

That is awesome Dave!

I have one of Dave's open backed sheaths and it functions beautifully.

I have been very tempted to pick up a sheath designed like this. My first thought that comes to mind is all of the extra area that dirt can get into the sheath. Is this a worry that I should disregard and just go for it?

The idea is really great BTW!

While it might be a bit easier for dirt to get into the sheath, it's also WORLDS easier to remove dirt FROM the sheath. I have David's open spine sheaths for my M9LE and Killa Zilla, and they are both outstanding.

Thank you all for the business & the complements.

I really appreciate the loyalty & the well wishes, it means more than you can ever know.

My family thanks you all as well.

Have you tried this style on small to medium sized knives?

If the spine was only missing 1/4 to 1/3 of the way down a smaller lighter blade you may not need the safety strap.

Better yet if it was only a blade width channel the plastic around the grip would hopefully keep you from knocking the knife forward out of the sheath accidently.

Probably want the safety strap anyway to keep from losing a knife or a finger.
