I just got mine back from the Spydie Spa for vertical blade play issues and for bronze washers to be installed....but I can't tell if the washers were installed. Are the pb ones visible on the Manix?

Were the blade play issues taken care of?

The vertical blade play was in both directions- against the lock and into the lock. I tightened all the screws, in various combinations, and eliminated most of the play, but the action was really stiff. Interestingly, you could still see lots of daylight between the scales and the liners if you held the back of the knife up to a light.

After the spa,the play is almost gone...now it is only against the lock, and only if you REALLY work at detecting it....it is very, very minor and does "feel" more solid. Except for one axis lock I have, I can induce play in every knife, so this Manix is right up there for solidity. The action is still slower than when o/o/b, but it is within my acceptable limits.

It looks like the tang of the blade was slightly burnished, allowing it to snug in better...but I may be imagining that...

All in all a succesful trip for the mechanical issues.
