A few people have sent pm`s asking about this, so I thought I would post an update. As most of you know, my grandaughter, Hanna (who turned 8 last month), has Leukemia. As of December 9th, she has been in remission for four months. Here is an update of how she is doing.
On Monday Hanna was admitted to Hope hospital for her every other week treatment of a high dosage of methotrexate. This is the treatment where she has to stay at the hospital for 3 - 4 days. This was her fourth and last round of this treatment. The next step is normal chemo, and steroids for two months (this is where she needs to have Becky give her insulin shots because it makes her blood sugar go very high.) After that, if all goes well, she will have another round of a lower dose of methotrexate, where she only needs to stay for the day she is treated. After those treatments, she will be on a maintenance schedule of chemo, where Becky will give it to her at home, and get checked at the hospital.
With Mom, Dad, and sister Hayley, at our local Christmas Parade, where she got to light the town tree.
Thanksgiving.
With me in the hospital.
