I've seen lots of threads about big knives 'round here, but have noticed an entire segment of the industry that never gets mentioned. Don't forget that many sword manufacturers make smaller stuff that's often cheap enough to beat around, but still pretty decent quality. For instance, one on this Lutel page (go to catalog, then knives)could easily pass for a Bowie. scramasax (I'm told it's around $130 in American money)
Angus Trim is highly respected for the performance of his blades, and he makes a few under 30" long. Maybe not your idea of a brush knife, but they could certainly work in that situation, and are something different. Kris Cutlery has a few budget offerings that would suffice. I always thought this one would be great to stick in a pig.

Who would have thought something 50" long could weigh so little? (2 pounds, 10.5 oz.)
