MS has come up with a new game that allows you to use smart phones as fencing foils. I am not making this up.

I can't decide if this is geeky or cool, maybe a little of both.

Geeky, and kinda silly, in my estimation. Fencing is as much about feel as anything. There's no way to parry, looks like, and it looks like the way it works is they're trying to "stab" each other's phones, not each other. So not really "fencing."

I am foreseeing a lot of broken phones coming out of that app. I also agree with crimson that this is not really fencing in any sense since you aim for the other phone and not the person
