For Those whom Might be in the area at the time

So we ventured up to the big smoke for the Sydney knife show run by the Knife Art Association. Held at Rosehill Racecourse. The drive through Sydney was memorable. ... mainly for how busy it is now....this from the perspective of driving through a few of the inner west suburbs I used to rule the roads of in fire engines. There are no traffic lights where we live. The Countess bravely facing the thought of my enthusiasm....whilst we got photobombed by a cheeky smithy at the entrance.

The crowd inside likely broke all previous records. It was heaving.1000018523.jpg

Joker had a massive stand..
1000018531.jpg
Flint things...primitive and yet somehow very modern.
1000018541.jpg
When in Rome....some great examples of what can be made with hard Aussie timbers in a tradition that predates metallurgy.

I quickly skirted round the arena as The Countess took on the mission to find coffee.
There was a lot to take in and some tables ...notably modern production knives eg Civivvi and Jack Wolf were drawing people in like wasps to soft drink.

I had a very serious look here at the British stand...photos were difficult because of grasping hands reaching across in front...The place was packed.

We all know what "Shoulda" should have done....prices all in AUD btw.

Thanks for all the great pictures - looks like it was a great time! I had to miss it because of that whole being on the other side of the world thing.

So Meako...
I hear you ask...clamouring like young girls at the pink titanium scaled mall ninja display...Didja buy anything?
I'm afraid the answer is yes. What with my 60th coming at me like a broken rollercoaster car and the fact that there is absolutely nowhere else in this country to see knives of such variety or on such a large scale...I deemed it foolhardy not to.
The antler Joker to add to my deck of Jokers...I have 3 now..one for each visit to the show over the last few years.
I also settled on a fixed blade hunter with accompanying leather sheath by R.Morgan Hartland Forge from down in Victoria...and although his knives are not overly pricey they stood out from the crowd....a very well dressed crowd too I might add.

Great pics - thanks for sharing 👍🏻

Looks like you had an amazing time, brilliant 🤩

Awesome. It'd be wild to attend. Some of that is simply amazing, some of it just hard to find through normal channels. Very nice overall, thank you for sharing.

Thanks JM2 JM2 ..I'll go out on a limb and say its the biggest knife show in Australia...don't know of any others. If I learnt anything it would be ...at any given time there is a knife maker not far away.

Great stuff mate, looks like a hoot. I could imagine it was like a kid in a candy shop there!

I very nearly bought a Hartland forge knife recently but with a tight budget I held the money aside for this years (?) forum knife. He makes beautiful knives.

Looks like a very good show, love the photo bomb.

I cant be the only one disappointed though as I expected you to have corks dangling from your hat in full on cliche mode. 🤣

Seeing the Boomerangs reminded me of this Boomerang sketch.
