Just a RED FLAG at this stage...

I DO NOT intend to buy a lot of Matriarchs for those of you who mailed me when they arrive over here, JUST to be told you don't want them any more (at a later stage)... that you can rather get it from Spark... that you rather want the gray one, etc. etc. etc...

I do NOT own a store where I can "get rid" of the excess knives, in order to reclaim my capital layout that I suppose I'll have to make to ensure that I can obtain the knives for you guys when they arrive here.

I also don't want to pre-order a lot of Matriarchs, just to tell the agent at a later stage (with a red face) that I now only want 5 of the xxxxxxx that I originally ordered!

However, I have NO intention of changing my order at this stage. I am VERY willing to help those of you who REALLY want the Matriarch, but then YOU will have to make a commitment as well... I will NOT expect upfront payment from you (although that will be the safe way of doing this) - your WORD will be enough!

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT OUT! I can't afford the same thing that happened to the BF Natives!! Let's NOT repeat history in this case, please...

at this stage it looks like something in the order of $75 that I'll get them for over here. However, NOTHING is set in stone yet! Maybe I can arrange something...

After that, you must still add shipping and insurance to the amount. I won't charge ANYTHING extra, as this is for fellow-forumites... One day each of us will have his/her turn to do the others a favour. I believe that we should have this kind of spirit in (AT LEAST) this forum!

We'll have a better idea of the exact price at a later stage (closer to the arrival of the batch)...

I've been told (by the local Spyderco importer and agent) that we can expect the batch at the end of September

- I hope that they're just playing it safe in this regard - I don't know if I can WAIT THAT LONG!!

Let me go cut something with my Harpy in the meantime...

Maybe I'm missing something here. Spyderco is definitely making 300 Matriarchs (with the distinctive grey handle) for North America, right? They will either be Blade Forum exclusive, or sold through other channels (Ironstone?). So, if you're not in Heyns' part of the world, why pay the extra shipping, etc.?

I don't like to take any chances. The number of Matriarchs that will be available here on the North American Continent is rather small. I don't want to miss out because I may have been sleeping. Besides, some evil person out there might buy all of them at one time and not allow anyone else the chance at one.

good point! I wanted everyone to think about that angle, thanks for specifically pointing it out.

However, some people want the BLACK-HANDLED version (utility cutters have various uses

). As far as I know, these BLACK-HANDLED models will only go to South Africa and Israel.
