It seems you thought one of my emails -- which begins with my initials RAM -- was Ram's in Nepal, because I received a message from you addressed to him. I just wanted you to know so that you can send your well wishes to the right person (not that I couldn't use some myself!).

I'm sorry if I read something personal between the two of you that I shouldn't have, but I will say he's a lucky young man to be looked after by a fine and caring aunt. :)

Wow, thanks munk! Really, reading over some of the stuff that fellow forumites are going through -- health issues, family problems, etc. -- I have no right to ask anything for myself. So, in the spirit of the ever-revolving wheel of karma, I'm sending the good vibes back at everyone! ;)

Good thoughts for you ruel. And Yangdu, Ram and Munk, you too.

You're much too kind, Dave! In truth, I'm actually thinking of wiping the slate clean and starting over with that website, since I've recently decided to try and entirely new approach to the subject.

Some of you might remember a thread last year where I asked for info about the pistol in this photo:

That photo and the article containing it -- "Dressed to Kill: Toward a Theory of Fashion in Arms and Armor" -- is now going to press with a lecture to follow. I found (as apparently the reviewers did too!) that fashion theory works better than any other I've tried to organize information about weapons, oddly enough. So, I will at some point probably re-work everything on that website around costume and cultural discourse interpretive theories.
