For you beer-drinking Monty Python fans

Went to one of those "wine bars" last night for our group birthday party. In addition to the wine list, they had a fair selection of imported beers, and I had to try this one:

Put up by the Black Sheep brewery, in Masham, Yorkshire. Pretty decent, actually, a typical Brit light ale. Complete with Terry Gilliam illustrations....
 
Has a nice crisp flavor. Bought a case of it last year at one of the beer warehouses in NYC. Still have a few bottles left in the fridge.
 
Ooh, too bad they didn't market it with a sound chip (like the talking milk cartons). They could put sound bites in the cans, psst (can opens) "She turned me into a newt!... Well, I, I got betta". Throw in 6-12 different phrases & I'd buy it just for the sh*t & giggles... :D
 
Black Sheep ales are normally pretty good. haven't seen this one, however. I'll keep my eyes open.

I've seen it but haven't tired it. I'm usually leary of marketing gimicks like that but then again most of the British beers are good in my experience....especially if they are at all fresh. I look for bottles that are not covered in a thick film of dust and are not in the direct light sitting on the shelf. Even brown bottles will get light skunked if left exposed too long so I try to grab the six pack at the back of the shelf especially if it is not refrigerated.
 
About a year ago, a friend and I were looking at beer. I heard her squeal and look over to see her waving frantically at me to come look... since we're both big Monty Python fans, we got some.

I was skeptical at first, but was going to buy it anyway just for the novelty value. But it was actually pretty good; a little light for my tastes, but good nonetheless.
 
I had to get some of that for my brother when I found it, he's a huge Holy Grail fan. I liked the beer too, but he's a Miller Lite man and didn't appreciate a good British ale. :( He did think it was funny though.

Nope. I'm paying $2 extra because it was a low volume import from the UK. Besides, when you buy it by the case, it wasn't that bad.
