that might be required to wear helmets though you can't stand them, these GW pics are for you :D

(At the shop I work at we must destroy damaged helmets... the boss knows I enjoys this task)

BTW this is my first and only piece of INFI so far... that'll change as soon as the bank account permits.

Must have more INFI...must have more INFI...

If your close by I'll come help you destroy a few, that could be fun!

Congrats on your first Busse!
Yep, with the way you treat knives you better stick with Busse's from now on:p

Thanks for the pics:thumbup:

I know that was fun!! When my little sister was riding her BMW R 65 she took a spill and after the mirror post snapped the post went through her helmet, narrowly avoiding penetrating her skull and, since she was firmly attached to the scoot, they tumbled together down the ditch for a ways. Broken nose, deviated septum, a few plastic surgeries and 3 years later she was good as new! Without that brain bucket her skull would have been skewered instead. I ride with the local ABATE chapter to keep the state's laws off of my body but when the rally is over the skid lid is back on my head.

Kris what kind of bike do you have?

I have a Suzuki Marauder 800 and a Victory Vegas......good stuff.

I will definitely say that I enjoy riding without a helmet (used to live in a no helmet state). I would go back and forth between no helmet, and a dot approved moto-cross helmet. Usually every time some mini-van-dumb-as-dirt driver nearly hit me, or nearly forced me into the back of the pick up in front of me, or actually hit me with the mirror of their mini van, and nearly forced me up over the curb, then pulled in front of me an locked on the breaks to make an illegal, non signaled turn, etc, etc, etc I am glad I have a helmet on. I ride with a helmet, gloves, and leather jacket now. (gonna be real hot in the summer).

QFT, I used to ride without protection and got forced into a ditch a couple of years ago....didnt get too badly hurt and the bike ended up ok. But a helmet would have been a great addition. I like you, wear all the protection now....even on hot days.

Last summer I had a really embarrassing dump in the parking lot. I was at Scouts, and was putting rope etc back in my tail bag and talking to the other Scout leader, not paying attention. He sped off, and I hit the gas to follow, and wound up in a pile on the ground. I could not figure out what had caused my front tire to wash out. I though I must have found some landscaping bark or rocks or something, but when I dusted my self off, and pulled my self out from under the bike (still running, with the rear tire spinning trying to eat my right foot), I did not see anything that could have washed my front tire out. I had a pair of riding gloves in my back pocket (while talking to my friend, I had forgotten to slip them on) so I was missing a patch of flesh on my right hand. No biggie, just a bit of bleeding, a while to heal, and a few more scratched on the bike (It is a KLX650c that has some off road beauty marks anyway).

I did figure out what caused the front tire to slide out. That is what happens when you forget to take the disk lock of the front disk, then hit the throttle hard. Man did I feel stupid. I was in shorts, and long sleeve shirt. Only my hand lost any blood. You can bet I check my front tire every time, before I take off (it was right after I had gotten the disk lock).
Pic of the Dome protector, and the Fox Creek leather jacket and some gloves

a while ago I was lamenting that I needed a good riding jacket and could not afford to get it, and a Busse. Problem solved.

Hey guys,
Ha...got more helmets to beat on over the last week... wonder how one would hold up to a FBM :D

It's cool to hear that a bunch of you wear helmets by choice... I'd probably have one of my old buddies still around if he wore one. The state I'm in doesn't require the rider to wear one, but I do anyway... too many distracted drivers out there.

barrabas74, I've got an '07 Sportster (883L... I hate havin' such short legs!!!!) that I grabbed off a trade in deal. Had it for about a year now. I figure I can get a 1200cc kit, new exhaust system, and some stuff powder coated and I still will barely be back at retail.
