Well, Ive never owned an Emerson. However, I do have an appreciation for this big boy. I tweaked they lock a bit. And she is rock solid at about 25% Lock up now. Dressed up in Desert Camo Kirinite to replace the desert brown G-10 for our friend Compman. Pics are from the work shop while in progress, but you get the idea. Hopefully the owner can post pics of what it looks like when finished as well as the other side of the knife.

Is Kirinite a slick material? For some reason, it always reminds me of a bowling ball when I see pictures of it.

Nice , beautiful. I love it.

Question..how do you tweak the lock and what is involved? Can you make it more early? If so, how?

Kirinite is smooth but not slick. It has a grippy texture to it believe it or not. More than smooth G10 and some Micarta It is hand sanded at 400 Grit and then Buffed. Leaving a nice Finish with a good grip. Bowling ball Lol. If you had it in hand or with a quality camera you would see it looks more like an exotic wood.
I have many tricks when it comes to locks, but this one just required more of a bend to get solid lock up and a little extra on the detent tab to hold it closed. This one already has like new lock up at 25%.

Can't wait for the postman to drop it off! Those already look like a 1000% improvement over the cocobolo's that were on it.

Thank you guys!
Compman, they should be there Wednesday morning. They went out priority first thing today. I am sure that you have better camera than my decade old CoolPix. Please post a picture of both sides if you get the time. Those were from the shop before I did a final Buff. It will feel so soft in your hand.

Oh okay, I thought what you meant was you were able to tweak the lockup percentage to an earlier lockup.
