Personally I like giraffe bone as I buy my knives to use not as an investment source. Here's a new folder Mark Terrell just finished for me...

It's a lefty Harrier with a 3/16 stellite blade, mosaic damascus bolsters, giraffe bone scales and a machined clip.

That's one of the nicest dye jobs I have seen on giraffe bone. It is a very good colour. The knife looks great, and when the giraffe bone looks this good, I think it is a better chioce of material than some others would be.

VERY nice indeed!

(and more than ample proof that, if dyed with some forethought, GB can certainly have a place among affordable handle materials.)

Thanks folks and I agree that if it's dyed a realistic color it makes for a very nice handle material. I would much rather have natural looking bone than "blue" or "green" mastadon ivory any time.

Thanks guys, I think (not sure if I remember correctly) I got the scales from Giraffe Bone.com but it was at a show, maybe Blade last year......
