I recently discovered how nice of a knife the Mnandi is , it just hit me out of the blue.
so ..Question

Are the new Mnandi knives able to open one handed still? i heard they changed the over-sized nail knick.

Not as easy. But I think that the inlays are really what makes the mnandi shine so that's how i I determine my purchases.

I can still open my newer Mnandi one handed, but I have to sort of pinch at the nail nick on both sides with my thumb and middle finger. Just as easy, just not a traditional one hand opening.

I handled a few at Plaza Cutlery recently and had no probs one-handing them. I'd assume they were new style, but not sure.

For me, it is difficult but the one hand opening is not important with the mnandi. The nail nick did change, but I think the newer version has a stronger detent that makes it more difficult to open. (Personally I mush prefer the stronger detent)

It can be done on the new one. It has a learning g curve tough. And the knife is a little slippery, so it's hard to get a good grip sometimes. That's just been my experience though

Thanks for the information ,that thread that was posted was also very helpful. I really do love the look of the inlays.

My small Sebenza is asking for a new friend.

^^^ it needs a little brother for sure! However..... Just remember that 2 leads to 10 very quickly

Had to look at my mnandi and make sure I have the older one.

this knife is too tiny to open 1 handed in my experience.
