Here is the first knife ive finished out of the "Memphis" shop. Hand forged 1095, forged "flat" on 1 side and beveled on the other. Dont have a pic of the flat side, will get one tommorow. Learned to forge this way from Fikes, will be doing plenty more like this.... alot of fun.

Any how blade is abougt 10.5 x 2 3/8" wide, 1/4" at spine, full tang etc... Handle is black micarta blasted for texture.

A real fun knife to cut with.

It looks great and I bet it cuts the same :)
Jimmy Fikes can be proud, looks like you learned good ;) :)

I like this one very much. I also like the other one on your website that has a similar handle, is ground flat on both sides and has a wonderful hamon.

On your website, when you list a knife as sold, you should still have something like "A similar knife would be priced at ...". That's my opinion anyhow.

The Fikes influence is evident, and that's a good thing. :) Great looking knife - can't wait to see some more!

Very Fikes. Very cool.

Did it warp a bit on you in the quench? My chisel ground stuff often does.

to paraphrase Jimmy-- Warped like a bastard.

It actually warped and "cupped". I had to re-heat treat it as the first quinch it was just too warped to striaghten. I then kinda used some "Kentucky" windage for the second quinch, came out straight but still cupped a bit. Had to re-flaten the flat side a bit to remove the cupping, no biggie.
