For you watch lovers...

They should pay people $1600 just to slog through that black text on dark green background.:barf: The designer of that page should be put in front of a firing squad! :D

Seriously, for $1600 you can get a decent "name" sport or diving watch.

I'd really like to know what it takes for a company to claim military endorsement. I can tell you first hand that I know of no SEALs issued this watch. Hanging a name on the watch like that chaps my hide. I'm going to get in touch with the company and find out how the back that claim. It's B.S. and it stinks. I thought Luminox had the false endorsement area all wrapped up.

Please don't EVER buy a product because someone claims this group or that group uses it, 99% of the time it's BS.

If you like the watch, go for it. I'd stear clear.

That thing looks like a turd. get yourself a Marathon SAR or else a BLACKWATER MMT if you like that milwatch look.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I wasn't so bothered by the military endoresements or lack there of.

But your comments were either right on spot with mine about the endorsements or very funny like BOBBY.T's :D

The cost of $1600 is outrageous, no doubt.

I still find the claim of waterproof amazing.

Thanks for the comments.

Kinda goody like Dark Ops Knives...for $1600, as said you can go Tag and almost a starter Breitling and people would know what watch that is...as opposed to something that can do a few miles under the sea.

Considering that the deepest a human being can dive to with conventional equipment is about 275 feet (the Seals reportedly have a special hardsuit that can take a human to 2000 feet) and the deepest point in the ocean measured thus far is 36,198, I'd say that's a bit excessive. In fact, the pressure at 39,000 feet below sea level would be over 1200 atmospheres, over 17,600 pounds per square inch. The face of that watch is about one square inch. Can it withstand 8.8 tons? Imagine, if you will please, five full-size sedans stacked up and the full weight applied to the face of that watch. I don't think so.

i would pass myself for that kinda dollar, try a marathon or find a used rolex submariner.

Sinn do several ultra water proof watches with liquid filling to resist water pressure. Sinn supplies issue watches to the German Counter Terrorist units. http://www.chronomaster.co.uk/Sinn Current Stock.htm

Its the same idea ultra deep sea divers use, instead of breathing air, they "breathe" an oxygenated flurocarbon liquid and their suits are liquid filled.

Nice looking, well sort of.... HOWEVER....

Any piece of equipment that bears the term extreme, (especially if it is spelled with an 'X') could be bad news. Spec ops too? Hmmmm..... Hopefully nothing more than just bad marketing (read: cockroachfarm's post... I aggree completely) but it raises a caution flag with me.

1600 bucks? 2.5 leagues under the sea? No Los Angeles class attack submarine?

Ok... All sillyness aside. As a serious recreational diver you are going to no more than 140 feet (give or take depending on how "xtreme" or just plain stupid you can get.)

Liquid perfluorocarbon breathing technology is not in use yet is it? Outside of Hollywood I mean... Problems with CO2 absorption and a constant need for total liquid ventilation pose some serious problems to name a few.

As far as used watches are concerned. I have heard of pawn brokers and internet vendors swapping out movements / parts so be careful if you plan on going that route too.

Shing's post shows some German watches that look a lot better - Flylock's suggestions are also worth a look. Marathon / Blackwater both look sharp. My Omega Seamaster has never let me down either - had it since 2000.

The world record for a scuba dive (as far as I know) is about 1083 feet and it took the guy 529 minutes (and an additional 20 cylinders of gas) to decompress afterwards. That's way too Xtreme for me though.

Good points to discuss here.

For 1600 bucks I'd either try to find a used Submariner or a new Omega Seamaster. No way I'd buy any other "dive" watch at that price level.

Nice watch for playing G.I. Joe in the woods. My favorite feature is the "Nasa type Carbon Fiber Dial"...
