I'm not going to resurrect the thread on For your bag fetish but I just got my County Comm BOB for $25 (thanks for the CPF tip, phantomspook!)

Maxpedition might make a tougher version, but I don't know why. This bag is just fine. It is compact and has lots of good pockets around the outside for access. I can see it as a neat car bag, easy to get at stuff on the road, without digging into a more closed pack.

I agree after getting my bag I can't see spending $60 plus dollars an the Max version. I use mine as a truck,gadget,magazine bag. Do you know if these bags are still on sale?
Did you find the secret pocket?
 
I liked your thread a lot -- that's what got me to buy this great BOB that I don't really need! :D I just don't like resurrecting a long thread and some new guy comes along and reads and reads thinkiing it's current and tries to get a response to his questions.

I didn't know that was supposed to be a secret pocket :p

Since I just got it, I guess the $25 sale price is still good, but you do have to go through the outside link. On the County Comm site itself, they go for $40.
 
Just given' ya' a hard time Esav! :D If you look at Country Comms site they show an actual bag of some police officers. And the secret poket is big enough for a Glock 17 I believe is what they say. I have to wonder why Country Comm would offer their procducts at half off on a forum. You'd think they would sell them at this price for anyone that vists their web site/store :confused:
 
That's an old marketing gimmick. The idea is to get people at another popular site to make a link in their minds with County Comm. They may not have realized, or they're pretending to forget, that it was supposed to be a temporary deal.

It's like a flower shop giving discounts to church members. Everybody buys flowers from shops they pass on the way, but this way maybe the church members will go out of their way to give him year-round business they wouldn't be there otherwise to give.
 
That pocket is big enough for all but a crazy-large revolver. I'd guesstimate that anything you'd reasonably want to carry and conceal would fit in there. .
