Hi everyone,
Today (my day off) was a busy day for sheath mods. The mods aren't anything spectacular, so don't expect any lightning strikes in this thread. Basically, all I did was to change some colors and do a little paracord wrap/s or add-ons.
Using Rit Dye (Black) I dyed a BK16 sheath to see how it would turn out. The finished sheath is next to my wife’s BK5 and sheath. Although, it is still wet, so we will see how well the dye holds after it’s dry and I wet it again. I used vinegar (for nylon) and damn near boiling hot water and about half the package of powder dye. I left the sheath in the dye for about 3 hours, checking it and moving it around inside the bucket. I really wanted the dye to set in good. I’ll probably, get some more dye and hit it again, just to see how black I can get it. As you can tell there is a slight color variation on the parts of the sheath that were desert tan. It’s going to take a lot to get those parts a deep black.
Next I took some Dark Brown (Camo color) spray paint and spray painted my BK14 sheath. And I wrapped some paracord around it just for fun.

I also took the brown spray paint to my BK24 pocket sheath made by Widerstand. It was black, well now on one side it’s brown. I really like how this one turned out. Pictured with my BK16 to show contrast in color.

Next I rigged up a paracord thing (I don’t really know what to call it) to the base of my BK16 kydex crossdraw sheath I got from 710. Basically, I wanted some extra paracord and a free hanging hook attachment so I could just clip stuff to the sheath if I needed to. Really, I was just messing around with this, and incorporated a buckle from an old backpack. One thing I wanted was for the buckle to be of use so it hold my extra cord and provides a horizontal(esq) clip area for…whatever. It’s a one-off and not really that impressive…..

I also wrapped by BK9 sheath I got from 710 with some paracord but it’s just a plain ole wrap and not anything special, so it’s not pictured.
Anyway, that’s what I did all day.
