I am putting the final touches on converting my old venturi forge into a forced air one. Here's a quick video of the initial test run.

It's hard to tell from the video, but it's WAY hotter than my old one. Tips on tuning it? I haven't tried to tweak it down all the way yet, since I am waiting on the fresh satanite to cure. (Also, I'm currently fabricating a sliding door for the rear) All tips welcome!

As an aside, when I was looking around old posts on the forum, Stacy mentioned to be aware of mud wasps. When I took apart my old one, it turns out that was the problem I was having! So keep your pipes clean folks haha!

That looks like a big blower, so the first thing will be to close the gate valve down until you get a yellow reducing flame. Then close the gas valve and bring the flame back to neutral or oxidizing. Repeat this until it is at the lowest flame that will be stable. This is the LOWEST that the forge will run at. From there you reverse the procedure to tune it up to HIGH. Open the gas until it is yellow flame and then open the air until it is oxidizing, repeat until it won't be stable any more or the valves are as open as they can go and make a neutral flame. Forge in the LOW area and weld in the HIGH range.
