This is more of an observation than anything. If I select "BFC Large Print - Testing" from the drop down box at the bottom of the page after about three to six minutes, this box pops up

and I'm forced to click on the Close button and am then taken off the Internet.

If I stay with the "BFC Default" choice, I'm ok and can stay on the site as long as I want.

Screwy things like this are going to keep ya busy for awhile Spark.

You're going to think I'm nuts Spark but I think that "f Connect" link at the top of the page has something to do with these odd happenings. I see others have suggested it too. Just my .02¢ from other forums I'm on.

Personally i would like the option not to have the facebook buttons. All of them, especially the "f Connect one", slow my page load time down considerably.
I suppose it could/would be better if the darn things loaded with the rest of the page.

I've been using the BFC large print option almost from the moment it was offered and have not experienced that problem with IE wanting to close.
However, I also don't find the facebook buttons necessary and would like to see them go away. On the upside, they have made me learn how to use the InPrivate filtering option with IE to block them...so that's something! ;)

I have noticed that Google spellchecker won't work with the large print option... Says that there are no editable fields on the page when there is a text box open, which is obviously not correct...

Google should work just fine. Facebook is going to stay, sorry, it's just too convenient for people who use it because they will be able to streamline logins

Stop using internet explorer?

I used it for a long time until I switched to Google Chrome. Many problems went away. :)

You can block all the facebook stuff, never see it.

Get Firefox or Chrome, install the ad block plus addon, never see ads again, and you can block any annoying crap like facebook buttons with a couple clicks.

I had chrome, but the facebook things were making it slow down too.
I didnt know i could put the adblock on it too....they even had a beta version just for chrome.
Facebook is gone now, pages load great...i'm a happy man.

MUCH OBLIGED< RAT !!! You Da Man!

Sorry to hear this. I would encourage you to reconsider. I've read all the suggestions and tried them to no avail. I cannot get rid of the facebook jitters and I refuse to be coerced into joining facebook or switching browsers. This is, unfortunately, a deal-breaker for me.

The 'just too convenient' for facebook users explanation seems specious or at least not the whole story. Maybe it's about who those users are, and their influence/importance here as compared to folks like me and others. Or it might just be about money. Whatever. I don't have a beef with that and I don't have a beef with your decision, as it is yours to make. However, I do want to make you aware of the fact that you are shutting me out.

I'm proud of my contribution to BladeForums over the years. I hope you'll take this opportunity to review some of my threads and posts. To be shut out like this will not only end my high level participation here, it will result in broken image links in every thread I've ever started or replied to where I included images. Since I am and avid collector and also a photographer/writer in the custom knife world, active for eight years now, we're talking about a whole bunch of images representing the work of many makers, organizations, events etc. I'm quite certain this matters little in the big world of BladeForums so I'm not engaging here in threats and whining. Just letting you know...

Multiple people are reporting a jittering, but I can't nail down where that's happening. Can someone who's actually experiencing it tell me where it's going on?

Kevin,
Thanks for your attention to this disturbing issue which appears to have now been resolved. That's great news for me and many others. Much appreciated!
