Perhaps this will work.

Or not.

Thanks Mike . And thank you for pointing me in this direction . I can see the pics on my end . Ill open up a photo bucket account and try again . I just copied the url from MDS and put it here .

Congrats on the 9. Nice patina job, and welcome to the forum.

That looks pretty cool. Can you explain the process you used to get this result.

Thanks.

I stripped the enamel off with Klean Strip , Then diluted mustard with water to thin it out just a little . Then I dabbed the mustard on the blade with a sponge and let it sit for about 5 minutes and washed it off. Th acid in the mustard puts a patina on the metal to help prevent rust and personally I think it looks better then the enamel and is more user friendly . Without the enamel there is less drag and friction when cutting.

There are videos on youtube you can do a search for "forced patina" for more detailed instruction and video .

Been a while since I saw a good patina. Nice work.
And welcome to the zoo. There's moosez, ogres, and all kinds of other wild animals running around here.

Thanks Jonny . That is the second time I tried it the first was with a Cold Steel Recon Tanto (can I say cold steel here I dont want to contaminate the Becker forum ) I post post pics just in case lol .

As far as the zoo I guess you can throw me in the ogre or bear cage .

Moose and ogre are dudes..... You don't wanna be in their cages... You will meet everyone and learn about this family..... Lol

Oh and if Flexx chimes in..... Then it's a totally different animal..... But then again you are not a sheep...;)

We have some seriously cool mods on here... They are more dangerous than most of us.... Lol:thumbup:

Welcome. Plenty of butthurt people here! Don't bring up the sheaths! I can't say i'm above bitching here and there :D

Great looking patina, very even all over, I will have to try the sponge method sometime.
