Got a new BK14 and stripped it...
• 12 hours inside a Grapefruit
• 10 minutes with some coffee grounds covering the blade with a little white vinegar added
• 3 more hours in a grapefruit
• 5 minutes wrapped in a paper towel soaked in white vinegar

Thanks to the forums for all the tips!

That pattern really turned out nice. I like it. Looks like marble. Good work and thanks for posting. Did the vinegar do most of the work?

My guess is that the grapefruit did the most. It's acids certainly had the most time, and the pattern resembles the pulp of a grapefruit.

jawkDNA, that looks real nice. I really appreciate your posting all that you did to get it, i'm going to try that. can we get a full knife pic? plans for paracord or scales?

That looks awesome! I plan on stripping my eskabar soon, might emulate you here on mine. Again it's sweet looking

That looks great. I am debating whether or not to take the coating off of the blade when I get my BK14.

I must admit, I'm not usually a fan of how forced patinas turn out... but that one...

The grapefruit did most of the work here... but vinegar and the coffee added some extra flat and coloring for sure.

Thanks!
Right now I have it wrapped in paracord not sure if it will stay that way... I will bust out my real camera later today and take some full quality pics.

That's a very nice patina I've been wanting to strip and put a patina on my BK11 for quite some time now but keep putting it off.
