Forcing a patina

What type of vinegar should i use for forcing a patina on my bk 17 I want it to be almost the color of grey if not than lighter(I don't know if some vinegar is stronger than other).

Grapefruit will do the trick for you

Cut onions and tomatoes. Than soak in vinegar for an hour (I haven't noticed much of a difference with types) take out wipe off and wrap in mustard covered paper towel. I like the patinas that gives me.
