i'm on my way to the store to pick up some lemon juice. i'm planning on stripping my becker necker's coat then using lemon juice for the patina. i haven't ever forced a patina with lemon juice and have only heard it mentioned on the forum. i was hoping someone could help me out with the process.

It's pretty easy, just wrap it in something soaked in the juice for a pattern or submerge it in the juice if you want a more even patina. As a side note, I noticed the purple heirloom varieties of potatoes seem to give an awesome blue patina.

use concentrated lemon juice, about 3 cups. Boil it and keep adding salt until it will not dissolve anymore. Boil until steaming, drop you knife in and let it soak overnight. Dont worry about rust, that doesn't happen. In the AM remove it and wash with hot water, dry, then mineral oil it while its warm.
