"Ford" United Cutlery Knife- LCC ripoff?

Yup, she's an LCC Counterfeit!!!!

Disgusting stuff as usual [unless Mr. Lightfoot is being compensated!!]

I handled one of these (except this one had a Harley Davidson logo) a while back. Imagine my supprise when it actually worked!

When you think about it, the MT LCC is a copy (licenced of course) of the original Lightfoot. So this one's a copy of a copy. :p

I'll stick with my real copies though. There's no way a UC POS would replace the two real MT LCCs in my collection.

Planterz-
How is the Ford clone different from the $10 chinese and Taiwanese clones? Other than being $9 more, that is?
Thanks,
Rats…

I wouldn't know, I've never seen or handled the Ford one. Not that I'd care to try either. I am in no way endorsing these ripoffs. I'm merely saying that I was supprised when I found out that it was actually a functional D/A auto. Judging by the materials they use on these junkers, and the mechanics involved in a D/A auto, I'd expect it to last no longer than a couple hundered firings before the parts wear out and you're stuck with a knife that no longer closes.

I think they're the same knife in any case. You can find these on the auction sites in various configurations.

Good day,

This is such an OBVIOUS copy that no more discussion is really required.

I just spoke to Greg, he was disgusted :barf: by this, and he has already filed a complaint with United Cutlery, as of last week. He is waiting to hear back from them.

Greg is not a Forum guy as he dedicates his time making great innovative knives  and has asked me to convey his sincere appreciation for all who have posted here in this matter.

Take care, Neil

It IS UC. Nothing need further be explained. I don't believe I've ever seen a knife of theirs that was a truly unique design. Or, for that matter, a reasonably good copy.

Bollocks. What about their Gil Hibben throwing knives? Or any of their Hibbens for that matter.

It really doesn't surprise me either.

Compare the CRKT M16 to the Colt (United) Cobra.

Compare SOG's Trident to the Colt Police / Firefighter / rescue knives. They even have SOG's Grove for cutting rope, which is patent pending.

Those are two I saw right away. There are probably a lot more.

Bollocks??? Who in the hell says bollocks??? ;)

Now you'll excuse me while I nip down to the chemist's for a packet of crisps.

And maybe also send a letter to the legal department at Ford Motor Company? That _IS_ a "Ford" logo on that bolster, isn't it? :barf:
