Not a CS owner yet, but Im curious, with my current back lock knives I can unlock the blade by pinching the scales and using my fore finger, but I haven't seen anyone do this with triads. Why is that?

Not quite sure how to envision what you're saying, but I use my forefinger to unlock them all the time like this:

thumb on one side/ three fingers on the other side, depress lock with fore finger. I assume the CS spring must be really tough to actuate or the lock is to far back to reach.

I typically depress the lockbar with my thumb. But often do it with the side of my pointer finger.

The triads are a stronger spring that some lock backs, but closing them is easier, if it makes sense. Midock, puts the lock in a posion to be much easier to close one handed vs lock backs where the lock is at the tail.

P.S. when I was on amazon, I went to the "cold steel store" which took me to a seller Clitus Taylor. Anyone know anything about this seller??

For me, it's a combination of the spring tension and how far the lock bar needs to travel to disengage from the notch in the blade. Just can't press it down that far with the tip of my forefinger (was able to do it on my Delica, but just barely and still awkward). But switching grips a little, I can either do it the way I showed in the pic, or do it with my thumb. But what I like about the way in the pic is that it puts my thumb very close to the blade, so when it drops, the ricasso will hit my thumb and stop, instead of being able to swing further and the edge hitting my forefinger (only a concern if trying to close one-handed and the pivot is loose enough).

Never heard of Clitus.

A bit off topic but are there any true triadlock/Lockbacks ? I just noticed all of mine are "midlocks" and cant seem to think of any true lockback models.
