Hi all,
i have showed this axe in the becker forum, but now i want to show it to you to know your opinions.

It´s made of stainless steel, micarta scales. It has a hammer in the back, you can adapt an ice axe, and also has a little shears.

It is useful as a survival tool. You can cut longs, nailing for a tent or building a shelter, or use for help as emergency climber.

What do you think ?

I think stainless steel is not the prime metal to use for an axe, but the concept is interesting. A "multi-tool" axe. Do you have a site link for where you got it?

Would the screw construction be of concern? Seems like it would be at risk of sheering screw with a lot of use, especially if they wiggle loose a bit

As Drummertist said, stainless steel is not well suited IMHO for high impact tools like an axe. It tends to chip out more readily than carbon steel. Also, in the unlikely event you would have to split big logs in a SHTF situation, the way the head is attached would interfere with the penetration of the wood.

looks like an interesting tool, as its been said i dont think i like the steel used, and it wouldnt be as effective at spliting larger wood, but i can see it would be a fun tool to try out

I think it's pretty neat. This is not your primary woodsman's axe. As a survival tool to just throw in the back of your vehicle or aircraft and forget about it until you need it, I think it fits the bill nicely.

Is that bit at the end of the grip sharp? Can we see pics of the shears?

Thank you all for your responses.

I like it. Where can we get one & how much $$$ ? Can it be shipped to the USA ?
Yes, i contacted with Forester yesterdat. It costs about 220US. I can give you more info in pv or my e-mail(ariam1979@hotmail.com)

It could appear. But the screw it´s very solid and hard to sheering /get loose

The end of the grip it´s not sharpened. It´s fat enough not to cut. I can post more pics tonight

I like the ice pick attachment. That would come in real handy up here where I trek. Only problem is that it looks REAL expensive and probably way out of my price range.

Edited to add: Just saw the price....no thank ya mister, too expensive for me for something that's untested and unproven (along with the other problems the other members mentioned). Best of luck with it

Agreed
