Show me the Buck in your collection that you are dying to use, but you just can’t bring yourself to it, because of its collectability, rarity, value or simply because it’s too dang pretty.

My safe queen is this Buck 501 Squire Gold Lip Pearl. I've posted these pics before, but she doesn't get out much.

Here is one I own that will never cut anything as long as I'm alive.

Started out as a Custom Shop 110 FG, NS bolsters and S30V blade with oak dymondwood.

It got dressed up with a spacer of black buffalo horn, a NS spacer, then mammoth ivory…and it lost the rear bolsters.

247 views and only 2 safe queens? Come on, they can't all be users. :D Remember a safe queen doesn't have to be a beautifully embellished or special build knife like the two above. (Those are gorgeous BTW.) For example, my late 70s 124 is just begging to be used, but to me, it's just too dang pretty to beat up. I have used it, but only lightly.

Great looking knife, Stumps. The stag is beautiful and nicely matched. That's an example of a knife that isn't overly done and could easily be a user.

No real Queens, part of the enjoyment of my knives are carrying them. To quote a famous Buck person "what are you saving them for?"

Three goodies, bertl.

I certainly understand your reasoning, gsea. I find joy in using and just admiring. :)

This Kalinga is safe.

Giraffe 532 and BCCI 531 are unlikely to see any action

I would carry these from time to time but they wouldn't do much more than open a letter, cut a string hanging off a pocket or other light duty. I try to get duplicates for use. I edc a 2 dot but have a matching mint in the case. Same with 317, got a 1st, 1st in the case but an somewhat later model I carry and use, switching it out with the 2 dot.

I've got around 120 Bucks, just trying to carry or use them is harder than keeping the majority as Queens.

Mark,

That Mammoth Ivory 110 is wonderful. Did you do the work?

Yup. I can't imagine not using every knife I have. If I can imagine not using it, i don't buy it in the first place.

That said, this thread has some pics of some really beautiful knives...
