well i have ben trying to get ahold of the feller at hybridburners.com. but have had no luck. i had emailed him on approx dec 27 of 2006 and got coresponding email saying 30 day wait he was out of country. well here it is past 30 days and 2 emails later no response. i have put of some things i was doing to wait on this burner from him. unfortunetly i dont care to wait much longer. What i am looking for is something like what he sells and is plug and play. no i dont care for a blown burner just to much piping going on for my likes. so looks like leaves me with a venturi type burner. Is there somebody else that deals in quality burners such as those found at above mentioned site. thanks.

A venturi burner will still require tuning to properly work with your forge. Neither style are really that hard to fool with (my limited experiences with venturi gave me the impression that they can be finicky), so I use a blown system. WICKED easy to use and HOT.

Either way, contact Darren Ellis:

He's got everything you want!

I've always used blown forges/salt pots. Simple, easy to make and forgiving in use.
If you end up getting one of these burners, it will be interesting to learn how well it works for different operations like forge welding, etc.

i dont forge weld and most liekly never will, if its the process to make damsacus? i live in residential area and will never be able to run an air hammer and dont have room for a press or the money for one. just will be used for heating steel so i can hammer manually.

Oh, I don't know ... I ran a forge and air hammer in my condo garage. The trick was doing it during the day when most folks were not around. Never had a complaint.

HOWEVER, somone did see me doing some nitre bluing down there and thought I was cooking meth.

Hi Dakota 11, I know people who own both the burner you mentioned as well as the style we sell and have been equally pleased with both. The 3/4" Venturi's are good for forge welding temps up to about 350 cubic inches of forge volume...some say a little more, but I'd rather estimate on the low end. It'll get an even bigger forge up to forging temps. If I can help in any way with anything shoot me an email! :)

Hi Dakota 11, I know first hand Darren's sidearm burner can serve someone well. If you keep his recommendations in mind about sizes and good insulation, it will be easy to hold forging temps. I put a choke plate on my intake, and I'm able to turn it down and run on pretty low pressure.
Take care, Craig

if i would have only known a few days ago i could have saved myself shipping costs considering i just ordered all my forge making items from darren about 10 days ago or so. oh well guess i better get a burner now.
