Sorry if this has been asked before.
I have a propane tank forge that i have used for a few years now, a great source of fun.
Despite careful use the coating of ITC-100 has to many holes in it to ignore.
My back up supply is as hard as a brick and sadly I am told it is a door stop now.
My search for replacement is rather expensive now. Any sources of Metrikote IR reflective coating, or Plistix IR, or any other coating, that will sell in small amounts to repair my forge.
Many thanks in advance for help. Cheers Ron

As far as I am aware, ITC-100 can be resurrected by simply adding water and stirring it in till incorporated and reaches its original consistency, i.e., thick, very thick. I made a pint of ITC -100 last almost six years by adding water when it dried out. I found no discernable difference in its performance once applied to the forge chamber wall.

Rex Price has some stuff called HYB-UV ($25.00/pint) that he sells for less than half the price of ITC-100 ($70/pint). He claims 98% IR reflective and if the stuff works anything like his burners, than you can't go wrong in saving $45.

I am building a new full sized forge (not completed) to step up from a square forge with a tiny chamber and I purchased this product from Mr. Price. I plan on 2-3 coats of satanite followed by as many coats of HYB-UV as a pint will allow, hopefully two thin coats.

I'll let you know how it all works out in the end.
