The knife: Laguiole/pistacchio wood scales  , brass bolsters
Size: 3 3/4" closed....3" blade. 440A @ 57Rc
Manufacturer: Forge De Laguiole

Initial impressions: OUTSTANDING! Fit and finish are incredible. Blade is perfectly centered with NO blade play. Back spring is very strong. No visible tool marks. No obvious gaps. The scales and bolsters are SCREWED on FROM THE INSIDE. Edge out of the box is better than most.

This is a very well built knife. It's a keeper. :D

Thanks! I like the laguiole design. It's nice to have another affirmation of Forge de Laguiole's quality.

The Forge De Laguiole is IMHO the best Laguiole brand.

I have a small bone Laguiole from them, and my wife has a bit larger Rosewood Laguiole.
And I got their Philippe Strack Laguiole, which is a model that is on permanent display in the Museum Of Modern Art in New York.

My lovely GF just sent me a pair of forged Lagoule steak knives with brass bolsters and rosewood handles. They are really nice, the same shape as the folder, which I think is classy and beautiful and they do a hell of a good job on steak.
