That looks great! Where did you get your forge/burner plans from? (Or is this your design?) I am in the process of building a small forge that uses one atmospheric burner that I got the plans for from Ron Reil's web page. It should reach welding temperature for small scale blade work.
It will in no way compare to your forced air baby though! I can't wait to build a larger scale version!-Guy Thomas

The forge didn't cost me that much to build. The watlow control & themocouple series 965 was given to me by the local sales rep. The 11" pipe was left on the roadside by a DPW crew. The only things that I bought enclosure, regulator setup & 1/4 pipe fittings from McMaster, blower Surplus Center, ITC coat'g & inswool from CJ products. It basiclly the W. Goddard's design. also the fire bricks.

Thanks for reminding me about McMaster-Carr Indian George! I had forgotten about them. I have been searching (endlessly) the net for pipe and hose fittings and they never came up under any of my search parameters.
Jay Hayes at C.J. Products is a great guy to deal with and is very free with help and advice with burners and forge construction. Happy forging!-Guy Thomas
